About the North East Area of NAFAS
The Area is governed by the Area Council which consists of two representatives from each Club within the Area. Council meets four times per year, and the day to day management of the Area is delegated to the Executive Committee consisting of a Chairman, 1st Vice Chairman, 2nd Vice Chairman, Honorary Secretary, Honorary Treasurer and Honorary Projects Officer, each of whom serve for two years. The President is the retiring Chairman who also serves for a period of two years.
The Area organises training of demonstrators, judges, and speakers, and regular refreshers days for these disciplines are arranged. Education is of paramount importance within NAFAS and a Refresher Day for teachers of flower arranging was held recently in the North East Area.
The Area produces a bi-annual list of Judges, Demonstrators, Speakers and Teachers (JDS&T). Email area-secretary@nearea.org.uk for details.
